Day 86: On to Pucón

There isn't much to report for today, I basically sat on a bus for the first half of the day - and then on another one for the second half ;-)

But there were two things I thought funny. First, the landscape. Parts of it actually look exactly like Germany, with hills and trees and neat wheat fields. Combined with the big highway I felt like I was back home. So maybe this is why the German colonists decided to settle in this area? Or is it the other way around - the colonists, whether intentionally or not, shaped the countryside to look like home using the seeds they brought with them?

Second, the bus. This one, like a few I'd seen before, was equipped with a GPS-based velocity display. As soon as the driver went faster than 100 km/h, the thing started beeping. Additionally, when he stayed above 100 km/h for a few seconds, the display said "transmitting bus position." It didn't say to whom, however. Maybe to the bus company, so they can take disciplinary actions against the driver? Or to the authorities, as an automated source of income for speeding infractions?
