Big day today: by midmorning, we all had to make our way to the Southern Cross language center in Guayaquil to catch the van to our home for the next five weeks. Playa Kamala consists of a handful of huts right on the beach, a delightful setting for a high intensity CELTA course :-)
Since the course is said to be very intense, I probably won't be blogging every day. Maybe I'll get to it on the weekends... we'll see!
In the van, many of the others were kind of worried about the bug and mosquito situation on the beach - the pre-course emails had prepared us for the worst. But when we got there, everything was perfect: a light breeze was coming in from the ocean, the heat wasn't stifling, and there were no mosquitoes after sunset.
So, I'm really excited that, starting tomorrow morning, I'll find out how to teach English!
